What's new?
James Horner RIP
James Horner was killed yesterday morning when his plane crashed in a remote area north of Santa Barbara. I am speechless. Undoubtedly, a much bigger loss for the film music world than the passing of Phillip Lambro, his death will have a big impact on Hollywood. For a heartfelt obituary by Randall Larson, click here.
Phillip Lambro RIP
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that my dear friend Phillip Lambro died yesterday morning at Glendale Adventist Hospital. He had suffered from a stroke that he had in April and was on a feeding tube. Phillip couldn't speak anymore during the last two months of his life and had limited use of his left arm. He is survived by a brother. He was 80 years old. I'll miss him.
Simon Boswell at a Special Price!
We are cutting out the 2CD set of Lord of Illusions, due to the expiration of our license. So, for a limited time you will be able to get this fabulous album for the ridiculously low price of $9.95. Ebay, anyone?
Redesigned Knight Riders
Neither Don Peake nor I really ever liked the original artwork for the Knight Rider CDs. So, we commissioned Knight Rider expert and graphic designer Nick Nugent to create new artwork for the first three volumes. Volume 3 arrived today, and it looks spectacular. The music is still the same, but now you also have something to look at. And the best thing: It doesn't cost a penny more.
Dennis Dreith Live!
Punisher composer Dennis Dreith will perform selections from his album, Reunion (out this coming Tuesday) with his dB Band on May 5th, at Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. His other Perseverance albums will also be available for sale, and the composer, along with his 13 band members, will be available for photos and autographs. For tickets, click here.
The March, Finally Available to Customers
It was written for the documentary about MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, but apart from the movie, it sounds just like a thriller. Get this one. It's AWEsome! Hopefully, there will be more to come from this talented composer.
Nemesis Out Today
Michel Rubini's part-orchestral/ part electronic score to one of the coolest Terminator clones of the Nineties is out today, and it sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Limited to 500 copies.
